Do you believe in yourself? As a business, we are so proud of the chauffeur service we deliver and believe in our brand 100 per cent. Without dedication, hard work and self-belief we would never be where we are today. We are growing year-on-year and have no intentions of slowing down.

But, when you are starting out on a new journey, whether that is launching a new company, or setting yourself a goal, self-belief can quickly deteriorate when hit with hurdles. Therefore, here are a few tips on how to believe in yourself when things get tough. 

Be aware of your mind-set 

You need to trust yourself. Give yourself permission to keep trying, to keep going and not give up. Mind-set is so important when trying to accomplish something new as negative thoughts can easily creep in. According to Dr. Joe Rubino in “The Self-Esteem” book, 85 per cent of the world’s population have low self-esteem, which is shocking. So, start by becoming more aware of your mind-set. Are you having negative thoughts? Keep tabs and when you notice this happening, stop and focus on your breath to bring you back into the present moment.

Show up every day

One of the most productive things you can do every day is to show up. If you’re feeling low or have no motivation, go anyway. It’s only those that show up every day that succeed as it is so easy to give up and give into those feelings. But, learn to take the emotion out of the goal you want to hit and just go and do it no matter what. You will always feel so much better after doing it too - so push yourself.

Set boundaries 

Creating healthy boundaries benefits everyone. Look at each section of your life: work, friends, family, money and ask yourself where limitations need to be set. For example, you will not work after 9pm, or that every weekend you will concentrate only on your family and friends. It works with anything, so just reflect on your strengths and weaknesses, write them down and most importantly, stick to them. Not only will it benefit you, it will also benefit those around you.

Self-reflect

Always look at how far you have come. It is so easy to get caught up in the moment and forget how far you have travelled to be where you are today. Therefore, take a step back and look at your journey with positivity and love. Self-reflection is also a great way to improve yourself and look at how you can grow and hit goals in the future.

Surround yourself with positive people 

Who you surround yourself with speaks volumes. How energy-sucking is it when you are around someone that is negative and does not see the good in anything? It usually makes you feel miserable too, so avoid these people. Instead, surround yourself with those that lift you up and that want to see you hit your goals and be your best self. It will bring you confidence, happiness and fulfilment.
